Field Work at Ta’ Qali

I saw birds and many cats.
With the lens I saw big flowers.
We went to Ta’ Qali park.
We had a long break.
I had so much fun in the park.
We went back to school with the coach.

Year 3.1

An Outing to Ta’ Qali

On the 19th October we had an outing and we went to Ta’ Qali National Park.

It was a very nice day with only a few clouds in the sky,

It was not rainy.

At half past nine we arrived at the park.

There were many animals like birds, dogs, butterflies and some ants.

There were many trees and flowers.

Ms Muscat and the science teacher took as around the Park.

A School Outing

On Monday morning at 9:00 o`clock.

We went on the bus .

It took us to Ta`Qali.

We saw some animals at the park.

Our teacher explained about the animals.

We had lunch and went back to school.

It was really interesting.

Christmas activities at the Mosta Primary A

Christmas activities at the Mosta Primary A were rather special this year. They started off with a mass celebrated by the archpriest Fr. Mario Tong for Year 3 pupils in our school hall. All Year 3 classes went carol singing to four homes for the elderly found at Mosta. These were the Pax et Bonum, Central Home, the Government’s Home for the Elderly and Casa Arkati. Ms. Grech and Ms. Mercieca accompanied the singing with their guitars. On each of the four visits our pupils presented a fruit hamper to the elderly.

The school then opened its doors to the parents and the local community. First of all two competitions were organised – one was for the best crib prepared by pupils helped by their parents which resulted in very original ideas. The winner was Massimo Cherrett (3.2). Judging was done by Mr. Charles Bellia from the Għaqda Ħbieb tal-Presepji.

There was also a Christmas cake competition, the judges being two Home Economics teachers from the Mosta Girls’ Secondary School which forms part of our college.This was won by Ms. Grima whose son attends our Kindergarten Annexe. Trophies for the first, second and third prize together with certificates of participation were presented to all those who took part in both competitions.

Our Christmas concert was this year incorporated in an open day. Parents were invited to spend a morning with their children watching the concert and afterwards they accompanied their children to the Multi-Media room where the ICT teacher showed parents and pupils the use of the interactive whiteboard. Another group of parents went to the Multi-Purpose room where sleeves were rolled up and parents helped their children to make a Christmas log. Parents from the School Council and helpers volunteered to show our pupils how to prepare the log. Another group of parents went to the Art Room where members from the local community gave a demonstration and offered useful tips for crib making. They also answered any queries brought forward by the parents and pupils.

This was a highly satisfying week and though it entailed a lot of work from class teachers who encouraged their class to show their talents in singing, acting , reciting poetry and dancing, it was a pleasure to see parents enjoying themselves in the company of their children at school. Besides the organisation by the senior management team, there was also the cooperaton of the school council and the Mosta community to fulfill our Mission statement – In partnership with the community and the parents Mosta Primary School A commits itself to enable all pupils to realize their full potential.
